About me

I spent my childhood in under-funded youth theatre groups in the suburbs of Stockholm. Where I got to write skits, make short films, sing, dance and perform but most importantly, learnt the basics of production out of pure necessity.

After finishing school I moved to London to pursue a career in film, and ended up working as a film editor, mostly on documentaries. The drive to tell stories took me to places like Congo Kinshasa, Western Sahara and Palestine before everything came to a halt when I was, out of the blue, diagnosed with cervical cancer at the age of 24.

That experience, and especially its aftermath, the so-called “cancer hangover” once in regression. Was something I hadn't seen being portrayed on screen in a relatable way. It made me realise I was at the wrong end of the storytelling spectrum, should I change that.

So on a whim, I moved back to Sweden and managed to get accepted into a foundation year of script writing at the renowned public college of Biskops Arnö, before applying to the Stockholm University of the Arts.

I graduated with a bachelor degree in screenwriting 2018 and has since worked on a range of tv-series as a script editor, episode writer and eventually head writer and showrunner.

My first original show was the acclaimed 8 part comedy drama Sjukt (Sick) for SVT, based on my own experiences. Followed by what became the international phenomenon of Young Royals for Netflix. A drama about freedom, love and structural inequality embodied in a 16-year-old Swedish prince who falls in love with a working class boy. The third and final season is coming out in Mars 2024.

In 2022 I was a participant of the European Showrunner Program at The International Film School of Köln. To further develop my skills as an executive producer.

One of my goals production wise is to find sustainable and ethical ways to make my shows, both when it comes to the work environment and safety on set - to minimising emissions.

But when it comes to the fictional aspect of the job, the actual writing and creating, it’s very much the opposite. I thrive in exploring all things immoral and the complexity of human behaviour. Both for comic relief and gut-wrenching drama.
